Disappointment is universal, stemming from broken relationships, unmet expectations, and life’s hardships. While Christians often believe Jesus won’t disappoint them, author John Koessler challenges this notion. He argues that Jesus does disappoint people, not through failure but through unmet expectations. When individuals approach Jesus with false assumptions about what he promises, disappointment follows. Koessler explains how this disillusionment serves a redemptive purpose: it realigns misplaced expectations and deepens one’s connection to Christ and understanding of his grace. The book addresses those navigating life’s difficulties and serves as a resource for pastoral counselors.
