This scholarly work examines the book of Jeremiah as both historical documentation and forward-looking prophecy centered on Christ. The commentary features “passage-by-passage translation and up-to-date commentary” exploring themes of judgment, restoration, covenant, kingship, and eschatological restoration. Shepherd’s contribution, part of the Kregel Exegetical Library series, addresses the book’s internal evidence regarding “its own writing, transmission, and editing” while remaining accessible to pastors and scholars alike.
