Spurgeon’s work addresses the urgency of faith, asserting that “he who does not take the step of faith and enter upon the road to heaven will perish.” He emphasizes the tragedy of being spiritually close to salvation yet remaining outside it. The author passionately urges hesitant readers to embrace belief, stating “Come in! Come in! is my pressing plea.” Spurgeon expresses his earnest desire that this work reaches many thousands of souls, and concludes by commending his work to divine grace.
