Timothy R. Botts combines letterforms dating to the first century with contemporary graphic design principles to express biblical meaning. Holding a BFA in graphic design from Carnegie Mellon University, Botts has designed over 600 books, including nine of his own works: Doorposts, Messiah, and an illustrated Bible featuring his calligraphy. He teaches part-time at College of DuPage and directs Masterpiece Ministries, an annual arts camp for high school students. His artwork resides in the permanent collection of the Newberry Library.
