The New International Version (NIV) represents a contemporary English translation of the Bible, published by Biblica. The complete NIV debuted in 1978, underwent minor revisions in 1984, and received substantial updates in 2011. This translation draws upon recently-published critical editions of the original Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek texts to provide an accurate rendering of biblical content.
